FAQs

If you have a question, chances are we have heard it before. So to make things a lot easier, we have written them all down in easy place and answered them.

  1. Is this for teams only?
Not necessarily. Our group sizes are for 12-16 participants and their parents - so it is a perfect situation if you do have a whole team wanting to be a part of this experience. We realise though that getting everybody on board is difficult, so if you have a smaller group interested - still get in touch and we have the ability to merge groups as required. There is no better way to make friends than on a sports trip!

  2. Who is ideal for this trip?
Destination Beach Water Polo is targeted for groups of water polo players and their families, with the athletes being between 13-18.

This is for athletes who want to take the next step in their water polo careers, learn how to be better athletes and want to enjoy this amazing sport and the opportunities it offers.

This is for families who want to holiday together while providing opportunity for their children to learn and have fun.

  3. What are the dates of the tour?
Currently, our dates are the 30th September - 6th October, 2019

  4. When do bookings need to confirmed by?
Our first cut off date is the 1st July, at which point our current quote on accommodation will expire and we will need to reissue a quote. A 25% deposit will be required once a group is committed to secure the accommodation at Momi Bay.

  5. Does this give my child a leg up in selection of rep teams?
Not in any official capacity. We have no official affiliation with any elite pathway. What we do offer is a chance for athletes to learn directly from experienced veteran players in small group settings of 3 - 4 players. This allows the coaches to provide detailed and intricate feedback on movements, skills and tactical awareness that are not possible in a normal team setting with one coach. Players will be provided with feedback and a training plan to improve on weaknesses post-tour, with each small group coach available to provide ongoing mentoring. This is about more than just becoming a better player - it is about becoming a better person.

  6. What is the cost?
Prices will be unique to each family, depending on the number of participating athletes and parents. To get an initial quote, submit a form below and let us know the size of your intended travelling family.

  7. Are room upgrades available?
Yes - we can put together a room deal that suits your family. Send us an enquiry and we can provide more information.

  8. Is this trip for Australian groups only?
NO - this is for anyone who is interested in a family holiday and getting developing water polo skills.

  9. Are flights included?
No - flights need to be booked and purchased separately. We can recommend a travel specialist to assist with group bookings upon request.

  10. What is the daily schedule?
We are still working on the schedule, however our goal is to have 2 x 1.5-2 hour water sessions a day, including specialised dry land warm-ups, with 1-2 other camp specific activities per day including Pilates, seminars, video analysis, goal setting sessions and other fitness related activities. There will also be a day excursion with the whole group (parents included) to an outer island for snorkeling and site seeing. Don’t worry if you think you will never see the family - there will also be scheduled down time for families to do their own activities.
